The initial consultation will involve a full history and examination of the breasts and lymph glands.

An ultrasound scan of your breast(s) will be arranged. If a solid lump is identified on the scan, a biopsy (sample of breast tissue) may be taken.

A fine needle aspiration (FNA) of your lymph gland will also be performed if they look suspicious.

Depending on your age, you may need a mammogram (Xrays of your breasts).

If a biopsy has been taken during the initial visit, you will need a second visit to discuss the result and any further treatment or future follow-up you may require.
